Native American HistoryRich in history, Boone County has it all from architecture to Native American artifacts. If you are a history buff, plan on spending time with us. Visit the Heritage Museum located in Thorntown. This museum is dedicated to preserving the Native American and Pioneer history of the town.

Nestled in the heart of Boone County is Lebanon, the county seat. Established in 1830, this town is a perfect example of midwest living. Full of life with its festivals, shops and dining, Lebanon also boasts some of the world's finest architecture. The Boone County Courthouse is famous for the world's largest monolithic limestone columns.

From the beginning, Zionsville was built with care to create the charming, unique village that exists today. Over fifty shops line the fabled brick street, offering a variety to fit any shopping mood, from upscale to uniquely fashionable to rare and vintage antiques. Surrounding the village is a mosaic of perfectly preserved historical homes - many dating back to the 19th Century.

Also layered throughout the county are small towns full of history and excitement. Visit Jamestown, Advance, Whitestown, and Mechanicsburg.
